Lord Records, today LORD Music Universal, is a Milan record company founded by maestro Franco de Paolis (stage name of Francesco De Paola) and singer Mara del Rio.
Active for six years, from 1960 to 1966, it was based in the heart of the city, in Galleria del Corso n ° 4.
Distribution was entrusted to Didea (via Moncalvo 52, Milan).
Besides Del Rio herself, the label’s best-known singer was Marisa Del Frate.
Despite the short period of activity (only 6 years, from 1960 to 1966), Lord participated in many musical events of the 1960s and over the years took over important labels of the time, such as Vis Radio and CAR Juke Box. It is precisely these acquisitions that have led to the formation of what is now the historical heritage of the current Lord Edizioni Musicali.
The Lord Archive today bears witness to the history of Italian music, with a catalog of over 10,000 songs ranging from pop music to jazz, from progressive rock to Italian folk.
In addition to the musical heritage, the archive preserves an interesting graphic heritage thanks to the presence of various LPs, 45s and scores.
